The
GIA-certified colored diamonds shown below have been SOLD,
but are left on the WCM website to depict just a small sampling of the types and quality of
these very rare gems that WCM can obtain for clients in
relatively quick order and with excellent pricing. If
you have a specific set of criteria for a fancy colored
diamond, please do not hesitate to email me at deals@fancy-colored-diamonds.com
or call toll-free at 877-855-9760. Or just fill our
the Request Form below. I will be happy
to discuss the most important selection criteria for
colored diamonds, especially with respect to the
significant differences in the requirements of cut and
clarity as they are always applied to the much more common
brilliant white diamond.

Oval Cut,
DEEP Grayish BLUE,

As the image above attests to, this is an extremely fine example
of a BLUE diamond. The diamond is so saturated with color
that the nicely interspersed purple and violet flashes of diffracted
light bursting from within the gem provide a top view basically
devoid of white light reflections. The cutter used every
arrow in his quiver of gemological skills to obtain a one-carat
plus diamond of exceptionally rich and remarkable
coloration. The very faint tinge of gray within this
predominantly Blue diamond is barely detectable under most
lighting conditions, but not uncommon in most of the exceedingly
rare and exceedingly valuable Blue diamonds that one can
infrequently find today. If this were a totally Blue diamond
per a GIA or Stephen Hofer colored diamond report, then the price would be well toward
$250,000. So we are glad the grader saw some gray in this
beautiful Blue diamond, and we can offer one of our fortunate
clients a truly Blue diamond the likes of which will not be found
by anyone, anywhere, anytime soon.

I recently had a search request made for an Intense Blue diamond
around one carat in size, and one of my overseas sources
discovered this very rare beauty within a few days, much to my
satisfaction. I offer this exceptional fancy colored diamond to a
very astute investor or collector out there in the ether.
From my experience in the grading of colored diamonds, I would
have to say that this gem is a borderline Vivid in color
saturation. Note how this image was taken by a WCM
gemologist on a very neutral gray background as recommended by
most experts in the field. This very light background and
lots of white light to illuminate the rich "sea-blue"
diamond cannot begin to wash out the depths of blue waves within
this diamond. You know that the lighting source is quite
bright in the white part of the spectrum by the fact that there
are numerous white facet flashes within the table of the gem (plus
the shadow of the gem on the gray background has a very
well-defined border around it). Outstanding Intense BLUE
diamond that will sell for considerably more money next year and
the year after that and the year after that. "An imminently collectible colored
diamond".

Cushion Cut,
VIVID ORANGE!, pure

I have been searching for over 2 years now for a PURE ORANGE
diamond, probably the second most rare diamond color next to pure
red many in the trade would argue. Well on Christmas Day, I
guess as a present from one of my international brokers, I obtain
access to this most remarkable gem. With a full GIA report,
this diamond has everything going for it at a time when demand for
fancy colored diamond is literally surging. WCM sold a
record number of superbly priced, very high-quality colored
diamonds in 2006, and I am looking forward to another stellar year
in 2007. What better way to start the new year than by
offering to my valued clients one of the most rare colors in
diamonds - a Pure Orange?!! The yellow flashes seen in the
beauty above is really what is know as Fluorescence in gemology
where Ultraviolet light excites a particular spectrum wavelength
or color in a gem. The sunlight hitting the diamond is
literally exciting its crystalline structure to emit a faint
yellow fluorescence. Since yellow and orange are adjoining
color bands in a spectrum, it is natural and not unattractive that
a pure orange diamond would fluoresce yellow tones. If you
are a collector of fancy colored diamonds, please note that I will
not have a similar diamond to offer in pure orange for a very long
time.

ASSCHER Cut!
VIVID Yellow, Canary
VS1

|
Superbly cut Vivid Yellow diamond in my favorite cut of Asscher,
also referred to as a Square Emerald cut. And it is not easy
cutting colored diamond rough because the cutter has carat
maximization, color richness, and gem symmetry to consider
simultaneously in his application of his age-old craft.
Asscher cuts are a study in light reflection by geometrical
perfection. And any yellow rough receiving this wonderful
cut has to be both richly and evenly saturated since the large
facets of the cut will disclose any imperfections of coloration
within the uncut diamond. The Yellow diamond market is very
strong right now as I have mentioned many times within these
pages. And large Yellow diamonds weighing in at over 2
carats are the hottest segment of this still affordable
niche. A true Saffron beauty fit for a King or Queen.

One of the most beautiful Cognac diamonds we have come across in
quite some time. Some collectors would think that large
Brown diamonds would be easy to find, but any that are as clean as
this diamond are often heat-treated to turn them into colorless
diamonds by some dealers. With a single color modifier of
Orange, this exquisite gem connotes a richness of almost a Vivid
level of color saturation. Cognac diamonds are often found
with a tertiary color modifier of Yellow. Based upon the Indian
grading scale of color levels for true Cognac diamonds, this large
gem is a "C7" in the trade. This diamond is much
more lively in color presentation than this image would
imply. We are very anxious to submit this gem to Stephen
Hofer for one of his most informative colored diamond reports that
even references the history of a particular color of
diamond. Personally, one of my favorite colors.

Size does not matter when it comes to PINK diamonds. This
fancy Intense colored diamond is right off the cutter's wheel and
has not been submitted to GIA or Stephen Hofer for grading
yet. Usually a colored diamond at this price level is not
submitted to GIA for grading as a matter of time and
economics. However, we guarantee that after this diamond is
purchased by an astute collector that it will grade at or higher
than the specifications shown above; we will submit the diamond to
Stephen Hofer for you at no cost. In fact, we think that
this Pink diamond could grade at a color intensity of Vivid, one
color level higher than the stated Intense. AND YOU ARE ONLY
PAYING FOR AN INTENSE PINK DIAMOND (which is high-end
Intense by any measure!). Common descriptive name would be
Peach Pink or Shell Pink with the subtle Orangish hues present
throughout the gem. Are you in the Pink
with fancy colored diamonds?

Fancy Yellow Brown,

Another under-valued colored diamond from WCM. While some in
the trade would consider this a Cognac colored diamond, I consider
this gem as a very under-priced Large Brown with wonderful yellow
flashes of color in a brilliant cut diamond that sells for a mere
$5,000 per carat. Try to find any other color in such a
large gem selling for that price per carat! I think
investors and collectors will be well-served in the years ahead if
they put together a set of Brown diamonds, because when the store
of wealth aspect of Fancy Colored Diamonds becomes more widely
recognized in the next several years, this color class is going to
skyrocket due to affordability. I personally have just put
together a 6-piece Wexford Cognac Collection that I intend to hold
for the next ten years and then put up for auction at Christie's
or Sotheby's. I have been very successful over the years by
buying temporarily out-of-favor assets, holding them for years,
and then laughing all the way to the bank.

Can you see any Pink in this basically Pure PURPLE diamond, an
extraordinarily rare fancy colored diamond?!! This is a
diamond that one will find once every 3 years or longer.
Purple is almost as elusive as Red in the coveted categories of
Ultra-Rarities in fancy colored diamonds. An eye-clean gem
that has a very nice spread suggesting a larger than life diamond
from the typical top or table view. Any experience colored
diamond collector will snatch this very rare colored diamond
before the sun sets in the West. Although at the Fancy level
of color saturation, this is a most purple "amethyst"
crystal diamond that some would say rates an Intense grade.
Very reasonably priced based upon the true state of rarity it
represents. A well-made Pear cut of exacting proportions
that emits a bevy of twinkling light and Iris hues.

As my experience grows with Stephen Hofer's Colored Diamond
Reports, I come to appreciate the nuances between
"perceived" colors and "actual" colors, the
latter being determined scientifically by a colorimeter.
This diamond, because it is a Deep Pink in color saturation, gives
a "perceived" coloration of red with reddish
tones. Due to the location of the composite color of this
diamond in color space, there are even hints of brown in this
diamond, but that modifier is not identified with this diamond by
GIA. As we are learning of late, a more rare color modifier
for a Pink diamond is Orange, with Purple being the more common
complementing color. Hence, this is a very rare diamond,
over one-half carat in size, with orangey hints, and a Deep
moniker that pushes the Pink colors toward red. Did I
mention that this diamond is priced well below market for today's
Pink diamonds?!

Intense Orangey PINK

This Pink diamond is a show-stopper. When you see as many
diamonds as I do (and my suppliers do!), you know when a certain
diamond is extraordinary. We have already discussed at
length the more rare nature of a colored diamond with Orange as
the secondary color than Purple, so let that point be considered
made. But to have a One-Carat Plus Intense Pink diamond with
VS2 Clarity priced at under $80,000, there is really not much more
that I must say, except: Beautiful, beautiful diamond.
This diamond's color saturation borders the vivid level, AND based
on other Intense Orangey Pink diamonds that I have seen, the
secondary color is barely visible. This is very close to a
Pure Pink diamond. Add a Strong Blue fluorescence under UV
light (sunlight), and you have a wonderful mix of crystalline
colors that will keep you mesmerized for years to come. And
the sound of price appreciation in the background, KaChink KaChink,
ain't bad either since this is most likely an Argyle Mine diamond.

The more involved I become in sourcing Orange diamonds, the more I
appreciate the beauty and elegance of this unappreciated-in-rarity
class of Fancy Colored Diamonds. This ORANGE-Yellow diamond,
with these two colors of sunlight sharing equal billing in the
final work of art, is one of the best made diamonds that I have
seen. With excellent polish and very good symmetry, this
diamond is an top-drawer example of the cutter's art. The
surface luster on this diamond is superb, giving the already
outstanding coloration a richness that virtually mellows the
presentation.
A large colored diamond of Eye-Clean clarity that spells volumes
about the enduring beauty of Fancy Colored Diamonds. Do you
see more Orange than Yellow? Possibly, it is the Deep
saturation level of the overall color that is causing this
effect. Superb gem, very reasonably priced.

No matter how long and hard we search for Vivid Pink diamonds, we
can never find enough material to satisfy the surging demand for
these increasingly scarce colored diamonds. While diminutive
in size at 23 points, this particular Pink diamond displays an
abundance of reddish tones that increase the rarity and value of
the diamond considerably. This Pink diamond could be
accurately graded as a Vivid Purplish Reddish Pink colored
diamond, with the secondary color actually being Red versus Purple
as designated by GIA. Wonderfully created piece of art that
is impossible to duplicate. Most classes of Pink diamonds
are up over 35% in 2006 alone, but we feel very strongly that this
is just the beginning of a multi-year bull market in this
extremely rare class of colored diamonds. Buy now, or you
will certainly be paying a lot more money for a Pink diamond at
this time next year.

Another very fine Deep Pink diamond from the Argyle Mine with an
impressive table size that makes the diamond appear larger than
its actual size. We are very fortunate to have excellent and
numerous contacts around the world, so we have access to many of
the rarest diamonds that many dealers cannot obtain. Some
prospective colored diamond buyers may have a little "sticker
shock" at current pricing of Fancy Pink diamonds, but prices
are only going to go significantly higher due to a depleting
resource, the Argyle Mine. Once again there are very strong
hints of Red in this diamond, an observation which strongly argues
for a Stephen Hofer colored diamond report to be obtained for this
wonderful gem. Round Brilliant cuts are seldom seen in fancy
colored diamonds, and the cutter did a splendid job in creating
this faceted work of art with Good Polish and Very Good
Symmetry. With a hint of Purple in the color scheme of this
diamond, ultraviolet light (sunlight, for instance) will cause
this diamond to fluoresce a faint blue aura, not at all
unattractive for these color combinations.

Superb Canary Yellow diamond that presents itself almost as a Deep
level of color saturation. Many colored diamond cuts are
modifications of traditional colorless diamond cuts out of
necessity to maximize white light absorption coming through the
gem. A color scientist such as Stephen Hofer uses the term
"colorless" for what most in the diamond industry refer
to as "white" diamonds; in reality, White diamonds are
an opaque, milky color! However, cut modifications are
hardly a drawback when the end-product is a deeply colored, very
rich diamond. Sometimes the slight introduction of Brown to
a colored diamond, especially a Yellow, will put the diamond in
the Deep portion of the intensity scale. But this pure
Yellow diamond has nary a trace of brown, just a super abundance
of Daffodil and Saffron hues. Did I mention that large
Yellow diamonds are increasingly difficult to obtain, even for us
in the business. And future pricing is going to reflect this
reality for the most affordable and popular of colored diamond
hues .... Pure YELLOW.
